  • Guided visits within the chosen community for asset mapping
  • New connections with citizens/groups using sample questions
  • Production of asset map of the area & determining how a constituency can work toward a solution for present concerns
  • Payments made on or before training.

  • Each councillor to include a young emerging leader from their constituency.

SEMINAR TWO

Vision & Planning
Dare to dream about what is possible! You have good ideas! Now, learn how to craft your vision for your constituency. Use the proactive P’s to plan out a simple community engagement. Then, make it happen!

The NDC Councillor — A Servant Leader
Develop an understanding and practice of leadership that puts people first. Grow in your resolve to be open and accountable. Build trust in your community.

THE OUTCOME?
 Build a support team of two others from your constituency
 Share what you learn with one another councilor
 Use the simple Proactive P’s to plan for your outreach
 Look over the NDC plan and ask “accountability” questions at council meetings

SEMINAR THREE
The Councillor -A Collaborator
Confusion, challenges, and concerns within the NDC are at many levels. You cannot do it all
on your own! Learn how to build collaboration within the NDC staff, fellow councillors, and
the wider community. Build relationship with other agencies connected to the NDC as well.
The NDC Councillor-A Holistic Leader
Make your community flourish economically and socially, bring healing and reconciliation.
Seek innovative solutions. Start the process.

THE OUTCOMES?
 Councilor collaborates with a member from the chosen constituency, NDC office OR with
fellow councilor on activities such as (but not limited to) site visit/decision
making/discussion on collecting arrears.
 Use charts to understand the various external collaboration possibilities
 Decide on how to seek help from a sister agency for a pending concern
